“Live neither in the entanglements of outer things

Nor in ideas or feelings of emptiness.”

— Hsin Hsin Ming

Outer things have an inner nature

We know not whereof

We do not have direct Awareness

Of the Awareness of other people

Not having Awareness of it

We cannot suppose ourselves in control of it

Yet its outer aspect

Seems to our Awareness

Wanting of control.
