Personal transformation, sought soberly

There are a minority of people who ask for nothing less than transformation. Such people are a hostile species to the incrementalism whose travelling salesmen are such phrases as “the journey is the destination.” But why would a person not want transformation? Stepwise growth threatens existence as a permanent patient of psychology. What people don’t want is to be told candidly what the price of transformation is.
