The limits of feedback

The use of feedback is highest when its importance is bounded. You need to be able to ignore a lot of feedback to learn from it.

Organisations sometimes develop cultures of infinite feedback. The intended function here is primarily an anxiolytic one. The lack of any real improvement after all this feedback is obscured by the warm feeling of having cleared the air, and by the distractions of daily events.
